™
URBAN [RE]GENERATION LAB™ PROGRAMS
Youth and community teach and learn how to read, interpret, and speak the language of their environments by engaging in spatial/visual, data, digital and design literacies in order to identify and extract the patterns, stories, and data that lie within place.
SCHOOL
PROGRAMS
GRADES: 3-12
For youth, by youth. These programs are designed to help busy teachers build bridges to the community and engage with Expeditionary Learning [EL] & Project-Based Learning [PBL] curriculum. We help teachers create unique field study opportunities, project-based lesson plans focused on their local urban ecosystems, and help form robust partnerships with expert speakers to offer personalized learning. We want to help youth exceed their curricular goals while creating regenerative systems-based educational opportunities through re-weaving community and schools back together again.

Participants in these programs will gain exposure to their roots of place through unique field studies opportunities in their surrounding communities. They will lead the design of school and community-based projects, and gain capacity, skills, and experience that prepares them for future success.
PLACE-BASED RESEARCH
ALL AGES
Our research is based on our "Roots" approach and is meant to provide us with snapshots of our city. These snapshots should provide insight into what the living systems of our city are, how they function, where the "acupuncture" points are, and serve to more deeply connect us to the needs, dreams, and wisdom of our communities in order to provide regenerative solutions from the roots up.

Participants in our research projects will gain new capacity and skills through learning how to uncover, analyze, synthesize, communicate, collaborate, empathize and visualize place. They will then lead and design community projects using emergent technologies to effect positive systemic change in their communities.

PLACE-BASED RESEARCH WITH AND BY THE COMMUNITY
CIVIC/SOCIAL TOOLS
ALL AGES
This unique rhizomatic place-based community Think-Tank and Innovation Lab starts around a table. We understand that people can often put aside differences and tackle tough issues when they take the time to sit down together, dialogue, and enjoy healthy food. Participants work together to develop civic/social tools that can help regenerate their communities.
Youth and community are introduced to new and different perspectives and wisdom via interactions with peers from neighboring communities. We also like to invite special guests and leaders from the community to engage in dialogue, provide feedback, and coaching for their projects.

Participants are challenged to utilize the hard and soft skills they've acquired to collaboratively design equitable civic/social community design tools addressing issues in: urban development; housing; justice, economy; mobility; education; tourism; health; the environment; history; and public space.
CO-DESIGNED COMMUNITY EXHIBITS AND EVENTS
COMMUNITY EXHIBITIONS+EVENTS
ALL AGES
Our immersive exhibits and story events draw from community memory, wisdom and potential, and highlight the ways in which our interconnected unique urban ecosystems work. We collaborate with community organizers and partner organizations to provide informative well curated community exhibits focused on the Who, What, Why, and How of a place. We host story events that bring our collective knowledge to the fore to ensure that it is the community's voice that is telling the story of place.

Participants in our exhibits and events will gain leadership, communication, design, and technology skills. These programs comprise some combination of the following: a civic engagement component; an equity-based communication, documentation, or design component.
